Julia Fairrie is a mother, teacher, integrative practitioner, humanitarian, and lifelong advocate for conscious change.

Her work bridges education, creativity, healing and social transformation. Trained as a Steiner teacher and with additional experience as a carer, naturopathic nutritionist, breathwork facilitator, sound practitioner, and alchemist, Julia’s path has always centred around supporting life at its most formative and most vulnerable moments.

Over a 20-year international career in the humanitarian sector, she worked as an activist in women’s rights, public education through the arts, and the promotion of organic, sustainable farming. Across these diverse fields, one truth became increasingly clear to her: meaningful change begins with consciousness - and consciousness is shaped through education.

As a child, Julia often felt out of place within mainstream schooling - disengaged, labelled, and quietly questioning a system that felt fragmented and uninspiring. It was only when she discovered Steiner education, after completing her degree, that learning began to feel whole, connected, and alive. That experience reshaped her understanding of what education could be.

Though her professional life was purposeful and impactful, she continually returned to one core calling: reimagining education as something embodied, heart-led, and transformative.

Julia is both visionary and practical. While her ideas are expansive, Lumierra began simply - around her kitchen table, in small arts groups, in conversation with families seeking something gentler and more coherent for their children. What started in intimate, grounded ways has grown from lived experience rather than abstract theory.

She is a passionate advocate for truth, freedom, and empowerment, and has stood firmly for her values - including representing herself in court to defend them. Her work is guided by courage, integrity, and a deep belief that education is the foundation for a more conscious and compassionate world.

Lumierra is not a concept created overnight. It is the natural expression of Julia’s life journey - a weaving together of service, creativity, advocacy, care, and an unwavering commitment to nurturing the next generation with presence and reverence.

At heart, she remains what she was as a child: a dreamer - but now one who has learned how to root vision into steady, practical action.
